The Real Reason Your Bananas Go Brown So Fast
It's a chain reaction, and one fruit is setting it off.
Bananas seem to go from green to brown overnight, and often a neighbour on your fruit bowl is speeding it up.

Ripening fruit gives off ethylene gas, which tells nearby fruit to ripen faster. Bananas are among the biggest emitters.
Keep them away from apples and other ripe fruit, and wrap the stem ends in a little foil to slow the gas escaping.
Once they're ripe, popping them in the fridge slows things down. The skin blackens but the fruit inside stays good for days longer.
