A Boy Gave His Ice Cream To A Crying Toddler. The Toddler's Mum Did Something He'll Never Forget.
It was the last one in the van. He handed it over without blinking.
The ice cream van jingled up on the hottest day of the summer, and a boy had been saving his coins for weeks. He bought the very last cone just as a toddler nearby dropped hers in the dust and burst into tears.
He looked at his cone, then at the crying toddler, then back at his cone. Without a word he crouched down and handed the whole thing over. The tears stopped instantly, replaced by a wobbly, sticky grin.
The toddler's mum was floored. She'd been ready for a meltdown, and instead a stranger's child had fixed it in three seconds flat. She asked the boy his name and thanked him about ten times.
The next week, a card arrived at the boy's house with a voucher for the ice cream van, signed simply, from the toddler who never forgot. He still has it pinned to his wall, right above his bed.
